After being chosen as one of the support performers for the N-Dubz concert in Derby next month, a Long Eaton singer-songwriter who competed on The Voice is celebrating. Olivia Mason, who goes by the stage name Lyvia, caused all four judges, including Tom Jones, Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, and Will.i.am, to turn around after hearing her distinctive voice and spoken word poetry.
She advanced to the competition’s quarterfinals, joining Team Anne-Marie. Since then, she has amassed more than 150,000 social media followers and more than 5.5 million TikTok views. Lyvia debuted the 80p and Chewsday-produced tune Invisible earlier this year, and she is now anticipating performing live at the Incora County Ground.
I’ve always been a tremendous fan of N-Dubz, so it’s extremely amazing to be on the same bill as them, Lyvia remarked. The fact that it’s so close to home makes it even more special. This will undoubtedly be the largest live performance I’ve ever played, and I’m a little scared about it (although I think nerves are good).
“Since appearing on The Voice, things have gotten better for me, and I can’t wait to take the stage in front of that audience — all we need is some sunshine right now,” she said.
Will Nelson, a former Love Island contestant who is now a musician, and Erin Bloomer, a singer-songwriter whose song SAD has received more than 60 million Spotify listen, will join her in backing hip-hop and grime headliners N-Dubz. JK, a nominee in four categories for the PTC Punjabi Music Awards and the 2011 winner of the Brit Asia World Music Awards Best Album Award will also perform to warm up the crowds. She’ll share the stage alongside DJ CZR, a Derby-based music producer and DJ.
Tickets are selling quickly for the event, which is a part of N-Dubz’s first summer tour in 11 years, and local promoter Nathan Thaker from Icons Talent predicts that it will certainly sell out. “We are delighted to be able to announce these fantastic support artists, which will really help get the crowd ready for the main event,” he said.
“Having Lyvia on home soil will be great, and the excitement has really begun to grow since the release of N-Dubz’s newest hit. We anticipate that when the band releases a new album, ticket sales will peak.
We’ll have an amazing night once we order in the sunshine, but I’d advise anyone considering purchasing tickets to do so as soon as possible.
Between 2006 and 2012, N-Dubz controlled the charts for six years. Their first two albums, Uncle B and Against All Odds, were both awarded Platinum status in the UK, and they have sold 1.3 million copies overall. With Number One, their hugely successful joint effort with Tinchy Stryder, they debuted at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in 2009.
The group has received four MOBOs, including Best Newcomer in 2007, Best Album, Best Act, and Best Song for their hit Playing with Fire in 2010. Additionally, they were nominated for a 2009 O2 Silver Clef Award and won it.
